Rappelz features three species: A light-based race called the Deva, and two human races called the Gaia and the Asura. Each race has three classes: Warrior, magician, and summoner, the class whose abilities center around their pets.[6] Pets are creatures that adventure alongside players, aiding them in battle. When the player levels up, their pet does, too.
Rappelz optionally provides the use of icons for actions, allowing them to be assigned to a hotkey. Some other actions may also be used through the use of icons (those available in the control window).

Guilds pets
Rappelz features a simple guild system, where any player above level 20 can register a guild at a Guild Official (NPC) in the major towns. Guilds offer players a group to play with. Up to five guilds can also come together to form an alliance. Players cannot player-kill another guild member or alliance member. A character who has just left a guild cannot join or create a guild within 7 days. This was implemented to avoid guild-hopping. An alliance owning a dungeon cannot add any other guild to the alliance.

Equipping to a Belt Slot
At level 40 pets can learn a passive skill which will increase a particular attribute of the character if the pet card is equipped to the first slot on the character's belt. At level 90 pets can learn a second skill of this type, so that equipping the pet card to the character's belt increases two different attributes of the character. When a pet is equipped in a belt slot it cannot be summoned or put into the creature formation window. This pet skill does not benefit the pet in any way when it is summoned or put in the creature formation window

Pet system
Pets can be used by all races and classes: the only requirement being two skills, Summon Creature and Creature Control, which are available early in the game. The basic classes (Rogue, Guide and Stepper) and fighter classes have little emphasis on creatures through the availability of creature affecting skills while the others, especially summoner classes (Breeder, Spell Singer and Sorcerer) can affect creatures more greatly.
Pets are attained by taming a pet while having the appropriate card for that pet in the player's inventory. The three most basic pet cards can be bought in any town, while other cards are only found from defeated monsters. Once tamed, pets can be summoned and banished at will by their owners.
Upon reaching a significantly high level, pets can "evolve" to a different type. A pet evolves twice during its lifetime. Additionally, pets can learn skills at higher levels that allow them to be used as equipment, augmenting their owner's power. Overbreeding grants pets more job points and stats than non-overbred pets. Overbreeding begins after a pet can evolve but not allowing the city tamer to evolve it.
Pets may be evolved at levels 50 and 100 but over-breeding must be performed at levels 60 (level:intermediate) and 115 (level:advanced).
With the release of Epic 7 in fall of 2010, pets may be "Staged" or combined into stronger pets with better stats, new skill, and durability.

Equipping A PetEdit
The creature formation window allows you to prepare pets for summoning as well as equipping the pets with various items.
To form a pet
First bring up the Formation window, the hotkey for this is Alt+Y. Next drag your creature card from your inventory to the first slot in the Formation window. You will then need to summon your pet using the Summon Creature skill in order to use it. It only needs to be in your Formation to have it gain experience.
To equip a pet with an item
You will first need to buy a plain (blue) unit card from any of the NPC merchants and combine one unit card with one item of equipment (armor, weapon, ring, etc.) in the enchant window. When you have sealed the item in a blue unit card a special badge appears superimposed over the icon for that item in your inventory. Now you can equip your formed pet with that "badged" item by dragging the item to an open slot on the pet you wish to equip. Although there are 6 slots below the named pet, in Epic 7 your pet may only use two of those slots. Staged pets(Durability Pets) can also use additional slots. Dual wielding of weapons by a pet is not supported.
To upgrade a pet's equipment
If you wish to upgrade an item sealed in a unit card you must first restore it to a normal item using a Chalk of Restoration. To do this simply combine the chalk with the item you are reverting as you did with a unit card.

Pet Card RarityEdit
Empty creature sealing cards are also commonly referred to as empty pet cards or e-pet, e-skele, e-hawk, etc.
Tier 1 cards are only available for sale from NPC merchants, they do not drop from monsters. (Except during some recycled events)
All other creature cards are drop-only items, although cash shop sales are often available offering bonus e-pet cards. Empty pet cards no longer drop exclusively from mobs of the same type as specified on the card. Instead the higher tier e-pet cards drop from higher level mobs and these exact level ranges are not published by the game's developer.
